Replacement speakers

Has anyone removed the four stock speakers in their Argosy and replaced with better ones? I'm curious if there is a thin (assuming they are thin) modern speaker that would improve the sound?

I'll check crutchfield.com out but would like feedback from those that have done this.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,
Not to familiar with the Argosy speaker cavities but I do know that you can get spacers if you see speakers that are deaper than the depth you have.

Here is a link for the type of product I'm thinking of.

Speakers

Thanks for the info on spacer rings. However, I want to keep it "looking" as original as possible while upgrading those items that are hidden or critical to the operation/safety.....speakers are obviously critical-ha !

I think they are 6" round speakers. Check into marine speakers, they will resist the moisture in our trailers better than automotive speakers.

You also might want to check out Parts Express

I am currently working on some custom portable speakers to use outdoors with my Ipod to replace my 3 dollar Sony speakers.

8-Trac help

Everything was going great until one of the tapes started warbling.....of course, I smacked it and now the player stopped working. Radio is fine, but no groovy 8-trac.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dan
