Refrigerator

How does one goes about getting the refrigerator out of an 1976 Argosy? There is the top shelf underneath the cupboards, the wall for the closet and then the other wall on the other side of the frig. Where would the screws or bolts might be? Looking in from the back you cant see anything. It appears the (looking at the frig) right wall has to come out. It does not work on propane anymore nor electric. If anyone has taken a frig out can you give details of how you did this? We would appreciate any information that you could provide.

Before you pull and replace it, have you checked why its not working. Mine was as simple as replacing the heater element that in the rear. Mine is also a 1976.
Of course, you might have other reasons for removing it and so my comment is redundant. To answer your question, that was my main motivation for repair rather than removal. It looks like a beast to remove.

Some of those can be very difficult to remove, or find out how to remove. In general they are bolted to the floor with lag's, one in each corner but sometimes only 3 total. Yes, you may have to remove the side wall or even the top stuff over the unit.

I have taken several out in various Airstreams and Argosy's and each was different in various ways, so unless someone has an identical unit to yours (and identical in Argosy's line was not common) you will just have to do your best to find the attachment points. I wish there was a nice simple answer for you.

I agree with Bex. See if it can be repaired first. Here is a 2 pix of brackets that are screwed into the fridge. That is why you can not get it out without removing the wall. This was from my 74 argosy 28'Click image for larger version
