Recommended Tire size/rating:'72 Argosy 22

Good day all.

My po put passenger white wall tires on my argy. Looks great, but .... I wish to replace them with a proper tire. He may or may not have put the proper size on. Can any of you advise the correct tire size?

The tires you have on the 22' may be OK. There is a talk here about using P rated tires on Airstreams "in some cases".

That is correct. And there used to be people that would go to car dealerships and install whitewalls on blackwall tires, maybe you could find somebody to do that for your new tires.

Thanks for all the input!! I need to change mine since they are ove 5 yeaars old and the trailer sways quite a bit in a crosswind or when a truck passes.

Both have their good and bad points. The bias tires will wear faster, and be stiffer when cold. Remember the "square wheels" feeling in our cars and trucks with bias tires?
Radials will ride softer, wear longer, and help (a little) on fuel. They are slightly lower in height, and the steel belts can come apart internally, causing tread separation and blowouts.

I do remember the square wheels. Somewhat fondly, actually. Dad and Mom had a '74 Midas Mini when I was younger. Feeling the square wheels meant we were going camping!!

I've seen that pic before. I think you posted it when I introduced myself.

trust me, I will never tow with the bird and, in my experience anyway, these passenger tires are really not helpful in a cross wind or when trucks pass me.
