Rear Storage Compartment collects water.....

and nicely channels it directly into the belly pan. It looks like it is designed this way. Originally it had gaps on each end into the bumper shell and the ends of the bumper acted as scoops and gathered rocks, dirt and water into the compartment. I've plugged these off. I think the leak is now mainly through the hinge along the lid. I've tried Andy's method of window hinge sealing with silicone which he recommends for some of the older trailer windows. It has helped lots, but still getting water in, and into the belly pan. Anobody else have this problem? Scott.

Yes, I have a nice water collector at the back of my AS also. I haven't seen it traveling into the belly pan yet though. I was thinking my problem was because the back bumper is slightly bent. I have the bumper removed now and I am going to work on straightening it this winter.

Maybe I should figure out a way to install some small drains at the bottom of the compartment to redirect the water out past the belly pan.

Hey guys, I've got the same problem in my '73. The base problem is that there is no way to seal the storage compartment. A buddy of mine told me about some flat, one way drains used in the aviation industry. When I get to that point I'll try them out. Then try to figure out a way to seal the compartment better.

Below is a pic of the damage caused by the water leaking in and traveling into the belly pan. Look closely at the bottom on the "I" beam.

I have a MH, not a trailer so I don't really what your storage compartment door is like. I had a lot of trouble with leakage in the storage compartment doors and slide out storage bins. I finally found some stuff to seal these. If you have pictures I could see if I think the stuff I got would work.
