Hope to see lots of pictures while the restoration is underway.

Well, you probably don't want to see pictures of the first days project...
The black tank had been left half full to sit for years. 2 bags of crushed ice and a 2 hour interstate ride were enough to loosen it up. Boy did we have fun at the local dump station.
Did I mention it was well over 100 today?
Anyway... it's home, with new tires and cleaned tanks.

That's over now so I can only say I'm envious. The rear door Argosy is discussed on the forum only occasionally and you are fortunate to find one that was taken care of. Congrats!
Congratulations!!! great trailer,,, cannot believe the price,,, am so jealous,,, Spokane is 3 hours from me,,, have lots of fun,, you will love it,,, best,, dieterdog
Janet, congrats on the new rear door. We'll be looking for progress reports. And seeing at a rally in the future. Two trailers, I don't know anyone who would do that. Claudia had mentioned Alumisillin as a cure. She said one had to get a prescription from a Doc. However it didn't work for me.

Jeez, you get a great deal on a trailer you have wanted for a long time and the second thing you buy after tires is ice? People probably thought it was to celebrate your good find. What a great idea for cleaning the tank. I'd of never thought of using ice cubes. It sounds like something anyone who is buying a used trailer should do on the way home "just in case" and to make sure they are starting with a clean set of tanks. Congrats on the great find. Is this one coming to Deming this year?
Barry
We called, did a speed run to spokane - just under 3 hours from home, inspected and settled on a price.
Funny thing is - this trailer was located about a mile from the cool new Airstream dealer in spokane - he may wander in and say hi... although I'm not so sure they're gonna want this questionable looking rig parked in their lot....
Wow, we would have loved to see it, we get several "diamonds in the rough" stopping by. We just received a link of 77 pictures of a restoration on a 60's Overlander . A young couple picked one up from a private seller about the coldest day of the year last winter. They had us hook up their brakes, get the lights working and they left about dark to head over the pass back to Seattle. They knew we were concerned about them and were kind enough to remember six months later to send pics and a "we made it!"
And now you guys.......about the hottest day of the year? Congratulations on your find!

Deming? Well no.... We've had the TCT rally on the calendar all year but.... it's the same weekend our son goes off to college (first time) and I think we'll be moving him into his dorm that weekend (not sure wether to jump for joy or sob). Next year for sure!

I'm not sure two years of half full black tank is exactly what I would call taken care of, but I think we all generally know what you mean.

I have always liked the proportions of the Argosys. Maybe the paint job changes the perspective. You have a great looking unit that should have minimum, relatively speaking, work to get her ship shape. Good luck and congradulations!

SWEET! I have only seen ONE (1) rear door Argosy for sale and it was POS that the owner/dealer wanted 3 prices for. Needless to say I passed and you got the good one

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going

I think that is what is referred to as "benign neglect".
Also, the Ebay auction listed an Argosy 22. Is it a 22 or a 24? But, what's a couple of feet between friends?
