quick "spot" fix for flecking paint?

someday......i will totally repaint my argosy. but TODAY i want to simply spot treat some troubled areas above the front windows where the paint has flecked off. any suggestions would be helpful.

The front and rear caps are not aluminum.

They are steel that was galvanized.

The only fix, is to strip the paint on those 2 caps, treat the galvanized metal with a mild acid, clean it up, paint it with a very good primer, wait a day or 2 and then color coat it.

Or, leave it alone.

Spot painting it will do nothing, since corrosion is the cause of the "flecking".
