Post Pics of Your Favorite Argosy Paint Jobs

My Argosy has it's original paint, while I love the "vintage" lived in look I must admit I wonder from time to time what my Argosy would look like with a new skin. I thought it would be great if we started a thread where fellow forum members could post pics of their newly painted rigs or a pic of a favorite paint scheme that they might have seen, to act as an online photo reference gallery. Anyone up to posting their favorite paint job?

Here's my contribution. Paint job was done in 2009. The paint is PPG Delfleet. In the shade it looks grey/silver and in the sun it turns a light gold. This picture doesn't show the rock guards that we added last year. G

The blueish green Argosy is Vintage Thunder... of Airstream Life. I hand painted the A-frame on that trailer... many, many years ago.

Those are all very nice! Where's the one that was painted like an Orca, I know it's around here somewhere!

If I had an Argy and unlimited funds for the paint, I have always thought a candy tangerine, like you see on the hot rods & customs, would be pretty awesome.

Well, this one's aluminum. I've actually flown the original Shamu plane a couple of times. Nice SeaWorld themed upholstery on the seats similar to early Mustang pony upholstery.

Kind of big for an Argosy, though.

I quite like the brown. If it were repainted as a metal flake brown. I had a bicycle frame made and Arvon (the bike builder) showed me a sample (before painting the frame) of a dark red almost burgundy metal flake that we used for the bike. When the sun shines on it.......WOW.
Maybe thats the colour I should repaint ours. I was going with burgundy/cream but now I am not so sure.

I looked and looked for a Argo,, with no luck.. Had one nailed down but was totaled by zero care and full of mice and rats,.. He still wanted over $12,000 so gave up..

After a full polish job on our 72 Overlander,, I still think a nice paint job is just great.. I like all of them posted above,, more of a mood thing for me.. Some days flashy and hot and other days calm and plain..

Now,, if I would paint my Airstream would anyone understand? Dont think so since that seems to be a trade mark and a unbroken rule.

Actually, lots of people have painted there Airstreams metallic silver rather than keep up with polishing. I've seen this at air shows (the airplane kind) where even polished planes have the wings painted and only the fuselage polished to cut down on the work. A P-51, F-86, and a C-47 come to mind.

Besides, if you look at the very first photo in this thread, the blue-green one is an Airstream, not an Argosy, anyway.

Actually, they fooled you I believe that's the Vintage Thunder rig. And originally (despite the badging) it was an Argosy

Post Pics of Your Favorite Argosy Paint Jobs

My favorite non-stock Argosy paint scheme is one of the first Argosys that I saw with non-stock paint. The coach belonged to VAC members attending the WBCCI International Rally in Dayton, Ohio (1999). The color was Rose Haze Firemist (I believe that it was either a Cadillac or Buick color). The color scheme was very subdued but was so very elegant.
