The manuals from Airstream say they cover all the trailers "built in that year." So do I want the 1973 manual or the 1974?

I would say you want the one that the Vin of your trailer references. Do a search for VIN decoding or look it up at Airstream, you will get from the VIN all the relevant info about your trailer. Length, year bedroom and bathroom placement and where it was made, as well the number off the line.
I have a 1973 book but it has no cover, if either of you want it, PM me.
