Nice Little Rig!

Wardster,
That one looks like a 'keeper'! It appears to be in nice condition, both inside and out.
'Just curious: did you locate your Argosy at a dealer or get it from a private party?
Congrats, and enjoy it!

Thanks for the kind words. My better 3/4 father had it up in DC. parked behind his house for 10+ years. He is the original owner. He decided to give it to us if we hauled it away so we jumped on it!!
We need to replace the cushions, replace some plumbing, fix a leak or two, have the propane lines checked and replace the dump valves, you open the cap on the holding tank and everything comes pouring out on it's own. Good thing we have yet to use the potty!
We are delighted with her and hope to get her back to original shape in a few years.

I envy you. There is something special about the painted Argosys that really catches the eye. I saw one in town yesterday and almost followed it to get a better look.

There goes that twitchy finger again!
What I meant to say was it looks like you are set up for the receiving the ghosts and goblins out of the A/S!!
You're in for some goodtimes in that baby!!

Congratulations!

Nice Minuet you have there, Wardster.

We have been looking for quite some time and as fate would have it believe we have found the one we have been searching for just as the dough-re-mi rolled in. We will probably make a deal on a 1979 Argosy Minuet 7.3 Meter tomorrow.

My search was pretty much centered on the Minuet series although I also love all Airstreams.

Hope to have pics soon!

Pros & Cons to owning an Argosy vs. A/S....

Cons:
1) You can't polish the exterior aluminum to a brilliant, mirror-like shine.

Pros:
1) You don't need to polish the exterior aluminum to a brilliant, mirror-like shine.

Kewl trailer dude!

Wardster - Isn't it amazing how these trailers just put a smile on your face. We too have an Argosy. 1978, 6.7 Metre Minuet and we can't get enough of her!! Yours is the first I have seen that has the green interior (looks just so 70's!!) Ours is the gold and we are trying to work around it - ya know what i mean. Hope to see some more pics as you start the fun. Later, Leigh

Looks like my ex-Minuet, brings back some sweet old memories I am tellin' you!! Hopefully they will hang out around here some more and we can tell them everything that is broken or will break on their vintage unit.

BTW, looks like they are sipping ginger ale to me, John!

Nice Argosy! I looked far and wide for one, and finally bought an AS closer to home. Not that I don't love my AS, but I adore the Argosys and their wrap around windows. What a great find, I hope you have many happy travels in it!

Chas,
Don't worry, we have enough broken items on her already..... and she did not come with any kind of manual whatsoever. I'm so lost!!! I don't know how to work anything on her. A/C works, but it's loud, not too many leaks. That's all I cared about at first. I'm going to try and figure her out one day... baby steps... baby steps....

Ginger Ale???? Puuuuuuulease!!!!!

Miller Lite and Jamisons for this family!!!!

See ya!

Manuals

Do a search on "manual" and you'll find a lady who has repro's. you can buy for almost all models.

Wardster,

You may not be able to find a service manual but Secretarial Services should be able to get you a owners manual.

Bad news on the AC. Unless you want to pitch a working unit you will have to get used to it. The Armstrong units work great, but tend to be a bit loud. If properly maintained they are hard to kill. I know of no way to quiet them down short of turning it off.

Look at it this way. You will not be disturbud by the campers next to you singing songs late into the night. The AC creates a "white noise" that blocks out other noises quite well.

As to your issues/questions post away, and if possible include pictures. Many here have been down the road you are about to travel and it is much better to lean from someone else than have to figure it all out yourself.
