Our 1975 26' Argosy..cleaning it up

Well we really went at it today.. scrubbed and cleaned the kitchen and front sofa area, got half the bedroom area done. Looks really good . Marvin checked the stove and it works. Hot water heater works. Frig works gas and electric. Pilot light on the furnace works but main burner won't light. Black water and grey water tank valves are stuck. Kitchen faucet leaks and will be replaced with a Moen. Bathroom tap and tub taps are stuck too.. We have all the parts for the front gaucho. and the side table and the top rail that the table attaches to .. we have one problem . what supports this rail other than the three screws into the side wall ???? Any advise re the wall and getting the valves unstuck.. and also the taps for the bathroom.. many thanks in advance. Will post before and aft pics soon.. Marvin and Annie.. and the little helper Toby.. he loves his trailer..

Hey...who stole OUR ARGOSY???

Well, now I know it's not really ours, but it looks EXACTLY (same year in fact!) as ours....even how the front dome in front is chipped! Glad to see another one around here. I'd like to know though, what is that small rectangular box in the front of the trailer above the tongue and under the front window. Ours doesn't have that. Any questions, just fire away!

That is the gas bottle regulator under the window.

I would get to the valves and try to to open them by first loosening the screws that hold the halves together. If they are still stuck you may have to pull them completely apart top replace seals that have become rock hard and are not letting the blade slide.

The three screws, but I would be sure to get them into a rib. I have always found that the furniture installers seemed to try NOT to hit a rib on install. Even though it will give you a solid mounting ??

Since the taps are mounted in the ABS, I would rent/buy a Moen insert puller from the local Hardware store. You remove the handle. There is a snap out cap and a screw under that. Then there is a C clip that needs to be removed. Once you have that out you mount the puller using the screw hole in the end of the cartridge and the puller will exert the force to pull the insert out without stressing the counter top or wall. New inserts loaded with new o-rings are less than $20.00 each in most cases. I would take out the old ones to match up to new ones.

Looks really nice, I am sure it will be a joy to use.
