Rivet Newbie to the Argosy world!!!

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum but I have been reading it for a very long time! I have long been obsessed with Airstreams and Argosy’s. Something about them I like, I would not consider any other type of trailer! I’ve been looking forever to buy one and found one in my hometown last year. It is a 1976 Argosy 26’ and the guy would not sell it. So I went back this year and he agreed to sell it to me!!!

I picked it up last night!

I paid $3000 Canadian and the axles are good and the body is great other then one tent in the top of the back. The hot water tank needs to be looked at and it has an electric fridge. I plan to fix the dent and get a propane fridge but other than that the trailer was mint!!!

I’m going to get the brakes and bearings serviced soon.

Everything is original too and it includes the manual and all the overhead bins and drawers and anything original is all intact. It is the model with the rear side bath/shower.

My first priority is to get a new jack/stabilizing system one of them is broken.

Welcome to the world of Airstreams and Argosys!
We moved from a 'box' trailer to an Argosy Minuet in 1978, and enjoyed it for 23 years. Now have an Excella.

It sounds like you've got a good plan on immediate mechanical needs.

Good Luck!

We found a 1978 24ft Argosy last year in November. I love it. We have never actually been anywhere in it, but the restoration has been lots of fun. We hope to get it on the road soon. We also took it to an RV mechanic for systems check. Got new shocks and connector and gas lines. Everything else is mint and working. We're on our way to Camping World this week-end for a new water pump and new roof vent. Want something more modern and dependable before we head out to the lake. Hope you have as much fun with your Argosy as we're having with ours. Judy

Congratulations on your new adventure. We gaot an Argosy minuet a couple of years ago - we had almost as much fun fixing it as we now have using it. Enjoy the ride!
