Newbie here, what year Argosy

Hi folks,
Newbie here. Picked up as Argosy26, and trying to find out what year it is. Have no paperwork, as it was abandoned on someone's property. May be a little overwhelmed by the amount of work it needs. 90% original interior, but of course the critters moved in while it was sitting empty. A few dents in the body and a few missing covers.
Any help would be appreciated.
Only number I could find was on tongue
Pat#. 2823931
Thanks,
Drew

Others have said it should be a silver plaque riveted below the water fill and above the trailer tongue.

I would say 1972 or 1973 based on the taillights and rear window size. 1974 example I found had a larger rear window. 1975 had a different taillight configuration. Check out VINTAGEAIRSTREAM.com

I agree with short563, but if the plague isn't there the VIN should be stamped on the top of the tongue. Mine is in the curbside near the propane tank holder.

OK, that is helpful.
No silver plaque at water fill.
I'll look closer at the tongue today.
Thanks

Agree that the vin# will be stamped on the tongue. Mine are stamped on the curbside by the propane holder as well. On my 73 I had no clue that the vin was stamped on the tongue until I was preparing it for paint with a wire brush. Mine did not have a tremendous amount of rust but was completely concealed from the years worth of paint that had been applied to the tounge over its lifetime.

I also agree that the trailer appears to be either a 72 or 73. Is there a gray water tank? If a gray water tank is not present it is probably a pre 74. Easy way to tell is to pour a little water down any of the sink drains and see if it runs out the the bottom sewage fitting. It could still have a gray tank if this happens, so the next step would be to verify that you have only one dump valve which should be located dead center of the trunk closest to the body of the trailer (picture below). Maybe someone with a 74 or newer will pipe in with where the gray water dump valve is located.Click image for larger version

Looks like the vin plate is riveted to the tongue in the top photo. With a fare amount of certainty I will say that it is a 26' double bed.

The plate riveted to the tounge should be the electrical "low potential only" tag. There should also be a plate riveted to the curbside for propane connection. On my 1973 the vin is stamped on the top of the "c" channel of the tounge curbside. On my 1972 it is on the side of the "c" channel curbside.
