OK, I have another question and thought I would ask it here. Have you ever thought about leaving it bare aluminum and just painting the end caps. I went crazy today and have been stripping everything and the metal looks great. I thought I would find bondo everywhere. I am thinking about just polishing her up and paint the end caps and maybe the line down the center top to cover those rivet lines on top. If nothing else it will buy me time to learn how to paint well. But is this a bad idea will it have major leak issues?

I may need to start a new thread but thought I would ask here first.

Sorry to hijack.

Thanks Nick

An Argosy that is stripped and polished is no more likely to leak than a similar Airstream. There are several polished Argosy travel trailers running around. The silver painted end caps don't stand out as much as you might think. You will still need to seal all of the seams as part of the process just as if you were painting the coach as the stripper also removes the seam sealers with the paint.

Good luck with your project!

Kevin

Kenneth, can you share some paint info with me. Looks great I must say. What type of paint did you use and is it a single stage or a base coat/ clearcoat system. I'm real close to getting our Arg. painted and this info would be helpfull. Thanks George

New Paint!

Check out the new paint job on the Argosy. She's even more beautiful than before! I can't wait to take her out.
