Do you find that having it painted white helps to keep it cooler at all?

Just curious.

Thanks, Mary

Looks great. You give me hope. I was out sandng all day today. Did you use paint stripper for the rivet lines?

Hmmm, I don't know if it makes a difference. For the most part this camper is taken to full hook up campgrounds due to wicked tiny black and grey water tanks. If's it warm we turn on the AC which turns this little trailer into an icebox within minutes....

Yes, those are the correct full wheel covers. The base would have been "baby moon" style hubcaps, the most costly option would have been the aluminum wheels, and the intermediate option would have been the wheel covers. The Argosy full wheel covers were basically Airstream wheel covers of the same period without the blue center emblem. During a portion of the model run, some of the Argosy wheel covers had a tan paint applied to the center emblems of the wheel covers.

Rivet_lines

nick6930 - Yes I did use stripper on the rivet lines. Using a Gel stripper,
I put masking tape about 1" on both sides of the rivet line the applied
a large amount of stripper. When it looked like the stuff had worked, and
while it was still very moist, I took a drill with a wire bush attachment and
slowly went along the rivet line. It slings off and makes a mess. But 15 to
20 feet of "Beautifully-Clean-Shiney" rivet heads emerge in less than 30 minutes. Those rivet heads really do not like sandpaper or a whole lot of
aggrivation of any kind. When I was doing the prep. work...I began to realize why there is the promotional rating system here all the way up
to "RivetMaster". I just have earned 2 rivets so far...and not sure how I did that....I am playing....anyone know how a fellow gets a "Promotion around this place".......not that I think I deserve one...but I was curious.

biggoofball - Thank you. One more thing...I tried looking at your
1972 Argosy 22 (looking for a new home)...the school where I work
has it blocked...anyway, I could talk you into posting one or two photos
in here so I could take a look. It may be in here...but I don't know where.

Sure:

Previous owner painted it a GM silver/bronze color from the 90's. Interior is nearly mint and original except for this sweet control panel that the previous owner built.
I just looked for my classified ad so you could see more photos, it must have run out so here's one shot of the interior.

I'll email you photos if you want. send me a pm.

/thread hijack over.
