That is an impressive looking paint job, for sure. My Dad had a bodyshop so I'm familiar with the effort that takes. It SHINES !!!!

Taking it out on Thursday for the first run in its new glory. I'll get some decent images then (though it's supposed to rain for all four days I'll be out and about. Here is one I took when I picked it up.

Beautiful! Don't tell my AS, but I have a thing for Argosy's. And seeing pics like this, may cause me to jump on one someday.

Hi
Is that a bird I see flying over the trailer
New paint jobs do come with a certain element of "I want to keep it utterly perfect forever and ever".

Awesome!
Turned out really great! I spent two fun years teaching at the University of Portland in North Portland.
I am going to have our trailer painted and am wondering if we should replace the seals as a preventative measure? Also wondering what method the shop used to strip paint?
Great looking trailer. Ours has a ways to go.
Thanks
Scott

Beautiful!
My '73 original paint (other than the front and rear cones) is really getting thin. You would think that after only 44 years it would hold up! Hoping to get new paint in a couple years, but want to take care of a couple structural things first.
Your paint job has really inspired me

Hi
If you want a job like the one in the original post, it's not just a matter of "what does it cost". It's also a matter of "where do I find the guy who did that?". There's a quick spray from the local teenager (yes I did this as a teenager) and there's a job done by a true professional. Prep matters, care in applying the finish matters, experience is what makes it all cone together.

The short answer is $5,600. $50 an hour plus materials. It takes a long time to prep and paint these trailers properly. I agree with Bob, it's more than how much. The Maaco in downtown Portland paints trailers and probably would have charged half of that but I wanted a particular gent to do my paint. It took me a year of badgering him to get him to do it. I was patient. He's the son of a friend and I've known him since he was a wee tot. I also know he does excellent work (he worked for the same company as I do for many years). Those two facts (ability and personal connection) are worth the extra money to me. And I am more than twice as happy as I would have been at Maaco.
