Question New Owners

My wife and I recently purchased a 1977 Argosy 26 ft TT. (Pick it up next week) It appears to have been well maintained and everything is functional except for the water heater. Previous owner thinks it is a bad control unit. Are ther parts still available for Argosy Travel Trailers? Being new to the travel trailer circuit we have no idea what we are getting into. The previous owner had the Argosy for 18 yrs and misplaced the owners manual years ago. Is there anywhere that I can obtain an owners manual so that I can learn how to properly operate and maintain this. (Is there such a book as "Travel Trailering for Dummies" All help is greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum!

Most if not all of the appliances and equipment on your Argosy are common to the RV industry. Some items or parts may be unavailable but are somewhat readily replacable with newer versions. Specific parts unique to A/S's and Argosy's may be had from aftermarket suppliers such as Inland RV. There are generalized technical books that deal with the appliances and equipment available at your favorite bookstore. Finally, you are at the right place right here, feel free to ask or just do a search and once again, glad to have you here!

There is nothing propriatary or unique to Airstream about your water heater. What brand is it?

The only Argosy "Squarestream" trailer I ever saw had been totaled. However, it appeared to have been (originally) a very attractive unit.
