Hello
We have recently purchased a 1977 Argosy 22'. I have been prowling the forum for some time and decided it was time to join. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and I have learned alot about our trailer.

Greetings Argosy 77-22!

Welcome to the Forums and the world of Vintage Argosy ownership!

The Argosy coaches are truly fun to own and I am sure that your will provide many camping adventures over the years.

Enjoy your coach and welcome to the Forums!

Kevin

P.S.: Have you determined whether your coach is a "standard" Argosy or the Minuet? In 1977, either was possible, but I believe that the Minuet may have been more probable. If your coach is a Minuet, there should be a Minuet badge in the beltline molding on either side of the coach. Should the badges be missing, the floor width is a sure indicator . . . 7' 8" "standard" Argosy . . . 7' Minuet.

Greetings, and welcome!

If we keep this up we'll have to get our Argosy sub-forum all subdivided like the Airstream one is.

Ok
Here are some pictures. It is a standard 22' Argosy. Rear bath, double bed made in Santa Fe Springs. I think it is all original except for the cushions, carpet, heater, vents, converter and LED lights. I knew enough to make sure the floor, etc. was solid. But learned afterwards about worn out axles, so that will be the first project. It also has the spare tire carrier mounted underneath.

Thanks
The PO had receipts for over $11,000 including his original purchase price.
He installed the spare tire carrier, converter, rock guards, heater, LED lights, 2 vents, carpet and cushion covers all within the last 1 1/2 years. He has a regular airstream and did not want the upkeep on two trailers. So I think we got an excellent deal, (except for the axles).

Really great looking Argosy!
I'm glad to see the LED lights since i plan to use them, too. I put them in my boat, and they've been great. Working on how I could wire them to a switch for dimming, too.

Congrats! I really like that floorplan; makes the coach feel open and airy.

I think you did well, given the pile of recent receipts. Given all of that other stuff (and I've done most of all of that myself), the price of the axles really isn't all that much...

axles

Larry did the axles on our Argosy Minuet and also on a friend's AS. Not that much work. There is lots of info. on the forums. Here is the link to our old thread. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f227...tml#post701449

I know there are alot newer threads too.
Have fun with your project and go camping!

I had been in contact with Andy at Inland RV earlier this year. They got every thing worked out with their new supplier, so they have axles now. Will be getting a pair this spring.

Nice Argosy. That has been well taken care of for the last 35 years. I agree that this forum is full of many AS and Argosy owners with a wealth of information.
