Hello! Everyone, I need some info on the Argosy, i found a 1974 22'. It has the dual axle. The door is in the back. It has the L shaped couch. Bathroom in the back. Thinking
about buying it, but it need alittle work the price isn't bad. But i don't know what these sell for. I have read some of the post and thought why not! Lets get some answers.

All depends on the shape, what needs to be worked on. That is a fairly rare model. I'll PM you if you want?

My Dad has a 75 22'er, and i have a 78 24'er.. Argosys are nice to have, and easily worked on, if you have the time/money/know how..

Check it out, post pics if you can get a few, and you will get some additional thoughts on it..

Basically, if you feel comforatable with the price on what you are getting, and are going to be able to handle the repairwork needed, by all means, Snatch it up.

Need info on Argosy, looking at one to buy!

Greetings Blondie3265!

The Argosy coaches with the rear entry floorplan are indeed among the more unusual Argosys. I suspect that the coach may actually be newer than the indicated 1974 as I was under the impression that this particular floorplan didn't make its debut until 1975.

The Price vs. Condition guide found in the link below can be quite useful when evaluation an Argosy or Airstream. It has been my experience that Argosy coaches typically sell for about 15% to 25% less than similar age/size/condition Airstreams with the price differential on the smaller coaches being the smallest.

http://www.vintageairstream.com/rr_t...condition.html

In addition to the many unique Argsoy features, the rear entry floorplan distinguished these coaches from their Airstream sisters as it has only been recently that rear entry floorplans have become part of the Airstream line.

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin

Looks great. As long as there isnt anything wrong with the floor, axels or leaky shell it should be an easy job. Just a good cleaning and some modernization of appliances if you wish and then recover the cushions, etc.

good luck.
