Looky What I just bought...
Its a 76 Argosy 24'. With TWIN bunks!!
Everything that is working is:
All lights, even the "porch" light.
A/c is newer and works great.
Water heater comes on and lights up, don't know if it shuts off though.
Fridge, kinda.
Stove and oven work good.
Not Working:
Furnace,,Don't know anything about it, don't even know how to light it. Plus while I was cleaning I pulled all the duct work out.
These pics were from last week. I've done a lot of cleaning and added new water lines, Shower faucets and new lights through out.
1st post and thought I'd share.
One question....In the Airstream World is the Argosy look down upon as a step-child of sorts?
Just curious.

Some of us envy the cool white of the Argosy during a hot summer sun. I think the Argosy is more of a cousin than step child.

Congrats! Looks like our kitchen, same color and layout. Do you have the piece that goes in the oven handle? It can be fixed, if you do. I fixed ours, same problem. You will love your Argosy!

I ended up repainting the stove and threw it both end caps away. Now I'm looking for a 14.5" handle.

I'm still in the save my money and keep looking stage. To me, right now, The only difference between an Argosy and and Airstream is the color. I view one as raw metal and the other the painted version. I know that there are many more differences but to me they are sister ships.
You Coach looks AWESOME! You should be proud to own an Argosy, especially one in the condition that you have.
Good Luck and welcome to the forum!

Looks fantastic. Wife and I purchased a '78 27' with all things EXCEPT the furnace. That must have been one of the trailer's weaknesses. Good luck and hope to C you on the road. jjairstream@gmail.com (WA ST)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Argosys... we are on our second one and have redone both .. this last one was a COMPLETE from axles to paint to everything and every appliance... check out Costalotta from start to finish.... would not trade it for any newer one ...

Good luck. I looked for one for almost a year before I gave up. Now if I find one, it will all be wonderful. Maybe somebody on the forum has one on a stove they are getting rid of. (I already looked at Colaw's, however I didn't look into the possibility of them ordering one).

Mine is not classed as a minuet is it? What makes it a minuet? Mine does have a tandem axle but I read somewhere that they also come in minuet?
Can I say minuet one more time....? LOL
BTW, heres my Vin Nimber 24T6V1710.
So I gather:
24 foot
Twin
Manuf: 1976
Made Versallias
Number 1710
Manufactured 12-1975. That kinda shows how manywere made in 1975, HUH?

Perhaps Airstream used Argosy like GM used Oldsmobile, to try out new ideas, like the wrap-around windows.

Exactly
That is exactly what Airstream did.. if an idea was liked by Argosy buyers, then a year later, it would show up in the Airstream line. The Argosy was the R&D piece for Airstream... and in my mind, those guys over at the Versailles plant were out to prove that their product was just as good or better then the Airstream product.... a pride thing. Plus, their end caps don't dent as easily.... I really like the Agronskis!

Argosy's were meant to be an affordable way to get in the family and then later move up to the AS. They are not step children.
But, Argosy owner's were not eligible for membership in the WBCCI.
I never understood that one.

Right, it was years before they were allowed in.... oh, and many Argosy owners get confused and even polish their Agronski...
A stripped and polished Agronski looks really cool I do say so myself.

Take the stove and oven to get powder coated. I am sure there is a buiness in the area that does it. That metal will look like brand new and it can with stand heat up to 450 degrees. Hot rod builders use it on their engines. It comes in all colors and you can match it to the color of the metal.
Home depot also has new on the market a formica paint. My counter top is the same color as yours and we are going to try this new product. Home depot says the paint is selling really well.
