My name is Skip and my wife is Allie (oph-rv). We are new here (duh) and just bought a 1972 Argosy 22. I brought it home last night. What a beautiful trailer. We are very happy. My TV is in my signature. It has plenty of power for the job and when hooked up looks like a postcard.
I am a mechanical engineer (43), wife is electrical (42), our son is 6 and the dog is 12
We look forward to becoming involved with Local, regional and nation Airstream clubs and hope we can give as much help as we receive from all of you.
also in my signature is a link to a picture of our new addition.
We look forward to chatting and hopefully meeting you all.
Welcome aboard! and congrats on the new coach. I'm certian your family will have uncounted good times with it.

Looking for a WBCCI Unit filled with fun loving folks to camp and travel with in the New England area? Well, you've just found it:
Hi Skip, welcome!
I was just curious - you brought the trailer home last night and introduced yourself today. I was just wondering if you have been lurking for a while or did you just find the site?
Anyway, it's nice to have you aboard and congrats on the Argosy.
Dave
I've been lurking. I signed up some time ago and read read read.
Long story short:
1 year ago I bought an old class C that I intened to fix up. The previous owner either did not know or kept to himself how badly the roof leaked at one time. Having renovated an old house, I dove in. after a year of finding more and more rot, I gave up, sut my losses and sold it.
While working on the RV I changed primary vehicles ('96 Roadmaster Estate Wagon). After selling the RV, I found out it the wagon was supremely outfitted from the factory with all the towing goodies. Well, since we like old things it was an easy jump to want and old Airstream, so we started looking and found ours.
This is a great place to start making Airstream friends. Another old car family is always a treat.
Enjoy, and look forward to more pics of your trailer in action.
Barry

Hi Skip,
Welcome to the forums - you know how great this site is if you have been lurking for awhile. Just by coincidence, I was out today looking at and driving a 96 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon with the factory tow package. It has 73k miles and drove very nicely. Is there any reason not to buy it??? By the way, if I lived closer, I would not hesitate to join the NEU of the WBCCI - they seem like really nice folks up there!
Thanks
George

Don't hesitate, buy it, you won't regret it. It's our favorite every day car!
I only towed the AS once with it but it had plenty of power.
For info on roadmaster wagon go to impala ss forums - google it. Those members have lots of info for decoding the VIN number to make sure that the car has proper equipment for towing. You'll enjoy the car for towing since it has 360 ft-lb torque and 300hp.

George,
