Kilz Original

Any thought's regarding the use of "Kilz Original" on the interior of a 1973 Argosy 24 to eliminate the stains etc.? Good idea, bad idea, terrible idea?

You don't say what kind of stained surfaces and that could be important.

As far as I know, Kilz Original is a shellac-based paint which contains some pigment. It is most useful for covering water stains of various kinds on indoor walls. Mostly it appears to keep the stains from bleeding through a new coat of paint (over the Kilz treated area).

I would think the surface still needs to be prepped so you might resolve the stain issues before you get to paining with Kilz. We went to a local janitorial supply and bought "J-Works" Degreaser. A product called Virox 5 (Accelerated hydrogen Peroxide) Sanitizer and cleaner) and a liquid enzyme cleaner. Ended up using the degreaser and virox only. The Virox cleaned and disinfected and the degreaser pulled the yellow/brown cigarette residue without issue.

I have the same trailer as you. White vinyl over aluminum except for the wood grain furniture. Kilz will most likely not even adhere to the vinyl. I'm with Bex. Clean it up first. The stains are dirt and will come off. If you want to change the color later that's your call.
