It's Official!!!

My hubby drove our "new" 76' Argosy! We have been lurking for awhile...since we first started looking. We were focused on a GMC Motorhome, but then we saw the Argosy and fell in love with the quality and design! She's in great cosmetic shape and hopefully in good mechanical shape as well. The fridge is fairly new as is the AC. Everything works and the PO had another Airstream, so he was well versed in the care and maintenance.

Here are some photos:

Congratulations on your new trailer!!! Great pictures; thanks for sharing them! I love the interior. It looks like a 26 or 28 foot? It has more room inside than ours does, which you'll appreciate on longer trips!

How did you find it? Was it very far away? That is an interesting rock guard on the front windows. I don't think I've seen one like that before. Do you have any camping trips planned yet? You'll have lots of fun with it; we really love our Argosy!

I see that you're from Edmonds - if you can give us some recommendations of campgrounds in your area, I'd really appreciate it. There is a picnic every July at the Edmonds City Park where people from our old hometown (Ketchikan, Alaska) get together to visit, and we'd like to be able to stay in our trailer when we go.

Enjoy your new baby; hopefully we'll see you out camping some time soon!

Sharon

Thanks for the kind words! We actually found her in Canada! The ad was posted on Craigslist for our area, so we drove up and checked it out and put down a payment. My hubby went and picked it up this weekend and we paid it off. The price was great (we thought) $6500, but with the exchange rate and the cost of the ferry both times, it's closer to $7500

The rock guard was already on it and so I don't know anything about it (other than after reading these forums, we thought it was a definite pro for purchasing!)

I'm sorry to say, but I am not familiar with any local campgrounds. We usually go to Oregon or Idaho to camp. LOL

Thanks again everyone! We are very excited about starting the Argosy adventure!

Welcome fellow Argonauts!

That's a nice-looking trailer, with a newish fridge and AC I think you got a great deal. I'm jealous of both the shiny huge fridge and the bathroom. My bath looks WAY more than a year older than that one, it's been well-cared-for (and I'm sure the gentler sun in the northlands didn't hurt.)

Be sure to update your profile with the new trailer info! Again, welcome to the forums.

Congrats to another new Argosy 26 owner. Even with the exchange, you got a great deal, plus you have sheets that match the counter top! Looks like you could head out this weekend in it! Enjoy!

It's Official!!!

Greetings loriinwa!

Welcome to the world of Vintage Argosy ownership!

You coach does look FANTASTIC. The only suggestion I would make is to consider getting the correct rock guard for your front windows. The one that you have was designed for the 1969-1980 (+/-) Airstreams with the small wing windows. Your expensive and nearly impossible to replace clear deep wrap wing windows are receiving very little if any protection. If one of thos wing windos is broken the only new replacements are deep solar gray tinted . . . salvage yards are the only source for the clear deep wrap wing windows that were installed on our Argosy coaches . . . . in either case a new replacement tinted deep wrap wing window is in excess of $700.

Good luck with your coach! I am sure that it will provide you with many miles of happy travels!

Kevin
