Is a '93 Land Yacht TT an Argosy?

Hi all. I've owned two aluminum Airstreams, and have found what is advertised as an Airstream Land Yacht travel trailer, 1993, 26' fiberglass skin. The picture clearly shows the Airstream name across the front. It's boxy but good looking. I didn't know there was such a thing. What is it? Thanks!!

Hi sura and welcome to the forums.
Yep it's an Argosy, often referred to as a Squarestream.
Much has been written about them in these forums. If you click on the "search" button at the top of this page and type 'squarestream' as the keyword, you'll find lots of info.
Happy surfing.

I'm not an expert on this but it looks like it might be one of those so called "square streams" that I've been reading about on some of these threads. Do a search on square stream and see what you find!

Welcome to the forum!

Roger,

If it has the Airstream name and is silver it is more than likley a true Airsteam. The Ivory square Argosy's were the predecessor to this too. Airstream built them and called them Airstream for one or two years. They did not sell due to many factors. One was price, the other was that the WBCCI rules at the time stated that the rig had to have the original rounded shape to be eligible for membership.

My understanding is that they are a well built unit and seem to hold up as well as the full aluminum units that are the "classic" style.

Brett, it's fiberglass and painted white.
Did Airstream build similar other than Argosy?
The ebay item # is 2428403618.
Maybe the 1993 is incorrect?

Roger,

93 is more than likely correct.
The white or gray that airstream used could fade to white as it has aged.

There is an argosy on Ebay # 2428702063. Looks just like it, that is an 87. In the late 80's is when they called them Argosy's the 90s were Airstreams. This could be from the last year of production.
