So, the previous owner replaced the gas/electric refrigerator with a 120V-only model. My old Dometic is still working right, so I don't have an excuse for this, but if you're going to go back to a refrigerator that can run without 120V, you might consider one with a Danfoss compressor like a Nova Kool. They aren't silent like the ammonia absorption units, but they cost a bit less and run well on
12V power. They're also less sensitive to level, so they'll cool while you're traveling even if you park on a slope for a while, etc.
That's one of the things on my list for "someday" if my Dometic ever gives up the ghost.
