Here she is! (Pic Heavy)

Well, here she is... We are really looking forward to renovating this '73 Argosy26. The plan right away is to replace the carpet with laminate, recover the cushions, make new curtains and (eventually) redo the cabinets and counters. The exterior will likely be repainted original on dow n the road as well. We have already learned a lot by being here and look forward to learning more. Thanks in advance for all of your help and advice!

Welcome! I have a '74 Argosy 26'. I have posted pics on my blog to show what I've done so far. You trailer looks to have the same setup as mine, except ours has twin beds. I've become very familiar with my rig. If I can be of any help to you, let me know.

Your photo's appear to show that the rubber rods in the axles, may have deteriorated to the extent of needing possible replacement.

The following article will help you to check them out.

I don't know how long it will be before you put this rig on the road. But with regard to the torsion bar axles. If the trailer will be sitting for a couple of years or so while you do the renovations. I would put the axle replacement off until you are ready for the road. The new axles will deteriorate just like the old ones did. It isn't the driving that affects the deterioration on torsion bar axles; it's the setting still with the suspension in one position along with the natural process of the rubber aging.

So, the previous owner replaced the gas/electric refrigerator with a 120V-only model. My old Dometic is still working right, so I don't have an excuse for this, but if you're going to go back to a refrigerator that can run without 120V, you might consider one with a Danfoss compressor like a Nova Kool. They aren't silent like the ammonia absorption units, but they cost a bit less and run well on 12V power. They're also less sensitive to level, so they'll cool while you're traveling even if you park on a slope for a while, etc.

That's one of the things on my list for "someday" if my Dometic ever gives up the ghost.

Welcome again to the forum family and the Argosy sub-family. You probably know by now now much priceless knowledge and experience these people share... it makes life much easier for us newbies! (The ink isn't quite dry on the title transfer for my own Argosy purchase.)
