Question Front window cover needed

Just purchased a 1975 24' argosy. I would like to purchase a window cover for the front wrap around windows. Any information on dealers selling this cover would be appreciated.

thanks
Patrick

Are you looking for a curtain to cover the window from inside, or a snap on cover to go over the outside of the window?

and dont want to spend a wad of cash on it

My Avitar

Is the window cover on my Limited, see my Avitar, the one you're looking for?

C'mon! A harder question please...

For the DIY-ers the gold-standard of posts is http://www.airforums.com/forum...ead.php?t=9638

Kevin Allen (Overlander 64) has rather complete info on Minuets and Argosy in other threads -- The Minuet may be 6" narrower than the Argosy so figure accordingly.

It might be tough in Idaho, but try to find a sailmaker, or canvas shop, to make one for you. They are not that expensive.

Inland RV has them. I have a 24' Argosy and the last time I priced it was $635.00.

The rock guard for the Argosy coaches is the same one used for Airstreams with the similar deep-warp wing windows. The one exception is for the Minuets - - the wing windows are the same but the center window is narrower due to the narrower width of the Minuet.

There were two types of rock guards typically used on Argosys - - the canvas or vinyl covers sewn to the dimensions of the windows and attached to the exterior of the coach with snaps. The second is the three-piece hinged cover that is a current Airstream part. The modified three-piece rock guard installed on my Minuet can be seen in the photo below:

As has been mentioned by others posting replys you can expect the cost for a new rock guard to be in excess of $600.00 (the cost will be somewhat dependent on location in relation to the shipping point as the package is rather bulky). The last time that I checked, the cost to professionally replace one of the wing windows approached $500 and the new replacement windows are no longer available in clear - - solar gray tinted was the only choice. This is one of those items that you may be able to source from a salvage yard such as Colaw's RV Salvage in Carthage, MO. You can find Colaw's at:

Colaw's RV Salvage

Good luck with your search!

Kevin
