Fresh from body shop!

Finally got my 22' Argosy out of the shop. New paint, axels, tires, and underbelly. Now to finish the interior... Just thought I'd share.

Nice looking paint job.
That trailer really stands up with the new axles. What was the down angle and weight rating on the axle?

I was looking for a little more clearance if I wanted to go off pavement. 45 degree downangle, 3500 lb axels (not much choice there)

I got a question about paint and primer: I called my body guy. He said he used 2 coats of PPG flexible expoy etch, dp-50 primer on the entire trailer. Then 3 coats of del fleet essentials ss, single stage flexible poly (tractor trailer paint), in 2008 Ford metallic silver grey.

oh btw, I paid the body shop $4500, that was labor, paint, and underbelly material (not wraps). Not cheap but I didnt have much choice of shops that would handle it. They built a make shift paint area out of plastic.

That's not too scary. I'd been thinking $5k-$6k, for a trailer 6 feet longer.

Looks good!

That looks great!! The price seems reasonable. It's time consuming for just one coat let alone multiples. It is a lot of work to mask windows, etc. Painting the top had to be quite difficult - that's a long reach! Dad had a bodyshop so I am familiar with the steps and prep necessary.

I agree about the cost. The Guy I give all my bodyshop repairs to quoted 8000-10000 for our 28ft.
I am amazed how much it stands up with the new axles.
Nice job.

Really looks nice. I wouldn't have thought of Ford paint; I like how (at least in the picture) it looks a tad darker than a standard aluminum fuselage.

Hey Canoeman:

Have you done any work on your interior? I came across your thread while I was "searching' for something else. The outside paint job looks great! If you have done some inside work, could you post some pictures?

Thanks
