Freezing in CT.... NOT!

I've been away from the forums for a while - have to take a break every now and again. Anyway, we finally got around to getting a furnace for the 20' Argosy. We ordered it 2 weeks ago at Camping World in Lakewood, NJ. We told them we were leaving for Massachusetts the day before Thanksgiving (that gave them a 10 day window), they assured us it would be no problem, we'd have the furnace in plenty of time. So, we pulled out the plastic and ordered a brand spanking new Suburban NT-16.

Silly me, but "plenty of time" usually doesn't mean the last possible day before departure, but hey, that's the way it happened and at least it arrived before we left. So, with the new furnace in the back of the 'Burb, we hitched up the Arg for a trip to Mom's house. Once there, we extracted the old unit, did the installation in about an hour and a half - which included the run to O'Conner Hardware, and now enjoy a toasty interior. The installation could NOT have been easier. We hung out at Mom's (as well as the kids the next town over) until Saturday AM, hitched up again, and are now parked in the KOA in North Stonington, CT - sitting high on the hill, both Stellarvue telescopes at the ready for some great stargazing... except it's been raining.

Crap. At least we have heat!

Bob: Nice to have you back in the forum. I suspect the new furnace is a lot more efficienct than the original would have been had it worked. I have the original one in my unit and it works fine yet, knock on wood. Good travels and find a UFO with those scopes!!!

Great day and skies are pretty clear. Hopefully you still have the telescopes readily available....tonight looks like a good night for stargazing or should I say Planet gazing...

The new unit is actually a little smaller than the original. It works VERY well, best $641 we've spent yet!

We had about 10 minutes of viewing the trio before the clouds rolled in...

Yeah, odd weather here in CT tonight. It was partly clear right around 5:00, but we then had a blast of rain around 5:15.

Didn't even get time to unload our new-to-us T@B that's sitting in the driveway....

Cool! The campground we're in is adjacent to an RV dealer who sells T@b trailers. The new T@G teardrops are being shown this week at the show in Louisville. Can't wait to see one in person...

Thanks Bob... REALLY COOL ... we have been viewing all night!! I wondered what that was when I was driving home, I thought it was two airplanes with the moon, they were so bright!! Trying to get camera to work on delay from tripod, so far no luck, but here is one shaky hand held version, you can tell what we are seeing here in Texas!! They were so bright.

Thanks! Yeah, it boiled down to whichever we found first - a Minuet or a T@B. Missed out on 2 Minuets by days (or hours), so went for the T@B. My wife is happier - much fewer projects this way - but I'm still keeping an eye out for the "next" trailer. Love your trailer - the paint job looks great.

Enjoy your visit to CT - it's a nice area there. (We visited that campground for a T@B rally before buying.)

Moon and Planets

Here it is a little bigger. It was a pretty evening, but we won't see this again
until 2055.

Spectacular Picture

Just before sunset, I saw the same alignment of the moon and planets in Milford, CT. It was magnified as it rose in the evening sun.

Wish I had a camera handy!

Your shot is spectacular.
