Free Argy Interior Parts

Hi all. Tomorrow I'm taking apart the Argy 26 interior. If there's anything you want, it's yours free, I'll take extra care removing it and put it aside. Just the UPS shipping charges. Appliances are coming out too...everything right down to the wood!

Your coach looks like it is in very good shape. Seems a shame to gut it.

Argosy Parts

Hello Chopper,
We would be interested in your two louvered cabinet doors if they measure 34and 1/2 inches.
Let us know and good luck with your project.

Louvered doors

You are welcome to them, can you describe it a little better so that I can take pictures tomorrow when I'm out there (also so that I can remove them with more care). Do you mean the uppers?

Cheers!

Condition of Argy

Hi GoBob!

At first (and because we were happy in our current unaltered original '73 Boler 17 but it had gotten too cramped in there with growing kids) I wanted to keep it all original too, but I'm really worried about the floor after a lot of the posts I see here and in light of the funky mildew smell in there. I'll start with removing the carpet as my plan is to do a cork floor, and if the floor is ok then I'll have more of a restoration option as opposed to the rebuild option. I'll post some pictures tomorrow of what I find. Plus...it's a bit of a hodge podge of PO attachments and as I have no idea of the history of the unit...well, let's just say that right now, it's a little "heavy" with age.

Cheers!

Yes, the two above the front couch/bed in the photo you posted. Are there others in your unit? We may be interested in them also. We would also need the "snail" tracks. Thanks so much, and let us know the shipping charges when you get them ready. You may e-mail us directly at pjkmifflin@sbcglobal.net.

Pull the carpet out tomorrow and let it air out and wipe down interor. THis should get rid of the mold and mildew problem. Usualy caused from keeping the trailer closed up. Most minor flooring problems can be patched fairly easy and a lot less costly that a gut on such a nice trailer. At 30 your AS is not even middle aged.

Middle aged AS...

GoBob...not middle aged yet for an AS...That's a good one! To follow up on the analogy, I'd say that this Argy is about to go through a mid-life crisis and may end up colored a hot Candy Apple Red and be zipping around like a youngster again!

However, first things first, I'll do the rehab on the carpet and subfloor. If you see my pics on where I found the Argy, it's was at the very very very back of the lot right next to a trashed Travelair...that's how much respect they were showing it. And I'm a little suspect on the "just came in at the beginning of the season" bit 'cause the tires were pretty much sunk in!

Gone already are...

Hi, the fridge and oven (if it works tomorrow...haven't tested any mechanicals yet) may be spoken for. As well, the louvered (tambour) doors and tracks from the upper fronts are requested. I'll answer the PMs in the forum so you can track what's gone.

Cheers!

Fridge and stove pics for Funchucky

Hi, here are the stove and fridge pics. Again, I'll either test them in situ or take them out and the nearby AS dealership should be able to qualify them.

Cheers.

Water pump and front tank

The pump is out, and the water tank sure looks grimy inside. I think I'll replace it.

Cheers!

Hello Chopper,
I recently traced a strong mildew/ musty smell in my 1966 Overlander to the old padding under the carpet. The problem became noticable and got worse fairly rapidly.
Good luck with your project!

Mildew and such

Hi Calvin,

Yup, some of the problem was at the water pump under the couch...as you can see in the above post photo. Some more water evidence infront of the fridge too, lots of it in the underlay...and getting the cushions out of there may have helped, but as we get further into it...well, there's more and more of the years and years of previous owners' clippings and layerings and screws and rivets and carpet pieces (found yellow shag carpet under the side cabinet!) and ancient pens and historic documents (someone's homework) and old pet leashes and PO fixups. Yup, this old puppy is getting a good shaking out!

Cheers!

Curtains

Hi Bob,

The curtains are in ok shape, they are plastic lined on the back. They're not great though...they're yours if you want them. I'll take pictures tomorrow evening of close ups. They are on some kind of special track, a C-channel into which plastic tabs on the curtains slide into.

Cheers!

Did someone get the stove

If no one has laid claim, I'll take the stove.

I'm interested in the sink covers (The cutting boards with formica on top). Any chance you will be giving them away?
