Fold away step retrofit?

Our minuet has no fold away step at the door. The original owners manual shows this step on longer Argosy models. Was it available on minuets? Is it possible to retrofit one?

Let's have a polishing party: I'll supply the trailer and buffing supplies. BYOB (bring your own buffer)

I installed a generic foldaway step on my Minuet,

It made a big difference and was sorely needed, especially after the newly installed axle which raised the ride height almost six inches. I can't really remember how I mounted it but it did require some welding of crossmembers to properly support it. The floors on Minuets are too thin to simply bolt them in place which is a common practice on most trailers.

I think Overlander64 has a factory step that was available for the Minuets, it is basically just a footstool.\

Been there

I did it once.
I was repairing some floor rot and it made it a little easier to do it because the original steps are not bolted to the floor. They are welded to the frame, actually the steel outpost that connect to the main frame. There are two steel members that are perpendicular tothe main frame at each side of the door opening, The steps fit in between these two frame memebrs

You can see pictures of the ordeal here:

I paid 100 dollars for a used set of steps but they were worth every dime.
