Fiberglass Endcaps?

OK all you Argosy experts, check out this for sale ad. I have never heard of early model Argosy's having fiberglass endcaps. Can anybody shed some light on this? What other years or models had these fiberglass caps? Is this even true? George

It does look nice.
As far as I know all Argosy trailers had the metal alloy end caps.
Perhaps they were refering to the inside end caps.

It sure does! He mentions that the work was done by South Jersey RV, and sure enough, there it is on their site:

REALLY nice job.

Well, I spoke to the man that did the restoration. It does indeed have fiberglass end caps. He said he had never seen like it, and he's been in the buisness a vey long time. Strang thing is it's not like the earliest on made nor the last model year made. I would love to hear from Jackson center the story behind the fiberglass end caps Argosys'. George

I know this is a really old topic but I just finished gutting and removing the interior of my 1975 Argosy 22' and once I pulled off the plastic interior end caps it revealed fiberglass exterior end caps. Just wondering if anyone had found any information behind these 'mysterious' fiberglass end caps? Was not expecting fiberglass back there so any information would be appreciated.

Here is my post and results on the topic:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f227...las-91555.html

I think a few were used in 1975, and maybe they were all built in California, which Airstreams says did not happen. Mine had a CA serial number though! So it did.

Oh, please post your fiberglas end cap Argosy year and story on the thread mentioned above so we can keep it all in one place. A magnet will tell you if they are fiberglass or not.

I don't need a magnet. I just look at the rust. 😄
All kidding aside, thanks for keeping track idroba.
