Dump Handle Movement

In the absence of an owners manual, could someone please inform me as to the range and angle of motion of the dump T handle on LaTortuga, a 74 22' rear door Argosy?

I would also like the thank the many contributors to this forum, it is invaluable. I can see where this would have been a much more difficult project in the dark, distant, pre-internet times.

If they are Thetford valves you should get about 3" of movement from fully open to fully closed. Valterra may be slightly less.

Does that dump both black and gray? LaTortuga was built in 1974 so she has both.

While not familiar with your specific model. There is a valve for the grey water and a separate valve for the black water.
I would expect the black water valve may be in the trunk if you have a rear bath. The grey water will be on the outside on the street side.

Thanks, I found the external t handle, gray I'm assuming.

Also, anyone have the black and gray tank size on a 74 Argo?

I noticed a rear under panel close to the trunk is rusted through cause it was steel. Any prob with replacing it with alum?

In my '74 Argosy 26. Both grey and black tanks are 12 gallon.
Did you find the black water valve?
Do you have a rear bath with the toilet setting on a platform?
In any case. The toilet usually sits right on top of the black water tank.

Yes, it's a rear bath, rear door 22', built in 74, and yes I found both T handles. Since I was running water while troubleshooting and buttoning up the water system, I imagine the tanks are wet, time to run down to AnglersRoost and flush out the tanks.
Thanks for the info.
