They are very expensive. In the neighborhood of $500.00. There are kits you can buy for less but require some work to install. If I may ask. What is wrong with your existing handle?

I bought one form Out-of-Doors Mart when we started the refurb of our '72/ Pricey, yes. Good quality though, and we've had no issues with it for the last 3 years, although she has not been on the road yet.

Check out this thread for an alternative (post 14):

You state door handle. Outside or inside handle? Or do you really need the whole expensive lock mechanism? Inside handles are not too bad: Oasis RV in Tucson or Inland RV would be good to try. Out of Doors mart?

If it is the roll pins. They can be replaced.
There are a couple of reasons these pins break. Pulling the outside handle too far when the door is opened. Slamming the door also contributes.
I have been successful in repairing the assembly on my trailer. If you PM me I can send you photos of what to look for.

Sounds to me like a KT 200 lock. Ditto on the above parts sources. You used to be able to send your lock to Inland RV and they would repair. The locks are pretty simple to repair if you are half way handy. I have a diagram somewhere I can post or fax if I can find it. Let me know. Maybe someone will beat me to it.

Any pictures would be helpful. I believe I have repaired it except I think I am missing the part that locks the door from the inside,

An exploded view of the KT lock can be faxed or e-mailed to you.

If you wished, you can PM that info to us and we will be glad to help you with that drawing.

If it is the part I am thinking it is a knurled steel knob that screws into a hole on the inside of the door lock. It is still available, for about $40 the last I heard. but a hardware store machine bolt for about 40 cents will also do the job just fine.

I used a machine screw and slid a piece of rubber tubing over it. It works great. Cost less than $.50.
