I received my new drapes from JPA Drapes last night, they look great.

While we were able to install the front wrap around windows, the gaucho side with the metal vallace that hangs from the overhead cabinets made it impossible for us to do. Any tips to do this without removing the vallance?

Hi, not the same, but when we cleaned our curtains, to remove and re-install them, I had to remove the rear valance completely. On my side windows, a few of them had more space on one side than the other, so both pieces of curtain had to slide on from one end. [the end with more space]

We had to remove the panel that separates the gaucho from the front dinette to get at the lower curtain tracks for the side window. There was about 1 inch between the end of the upper curtain rail and the valance at the front of the valance and that was enough to slide the curtain fixtures into the track, one at a time. It took a while but we would feed one top fixture in, then the corresponding bottom fixture, until we had all the curtains mounted.

I too ended up removing the divider between the front dinette and the gaucho so I could access the rail end opposite the closet. They are a huge improvement and would recommend JPA Drapes without hesitation.

Hi Dan,i just bought a 72 Argosy.I also need the front and side curtains.If you could please let me know who made yours you seem to be very happy with them.I am the fellow who is looking for the paint codes as well.Thank you your argosy looks great

Jungle terry: i just has all of my curtains redone in my 34'. I got mine through Fowler Interiors in KY. It took about 4 weeks. All fits and looks great. They are not cheap, but after seeing the final result, you can see the work involved.
I think there are a few companies that make these;Fowler, JPA and Silver Threads i believe.

There are four firms that I am aware of who specialize in the production of replacement draperies for Airstream and Argosy products:

• Airstream Factory. For the most part, it is my understanding that it is possible to order new draperies for Vintage as well as current model Airstreams through the parts department at any Airstream dealership. Again, it is my understanding that fabric choice is limited to what is being offered in the current Airstream line.
• James P. Ambruso, Inc. One of the oldest (1973) suppliers of Airstream draperies, this company has many satisfied repeat customers . . . and comes highly recommended by many Forum members.
• Fowler RV Interiors. Another well-established firm (1981) with numerous satisfied customers here on the Forums. Alene and Henry Fowler refurbished the interiors of both my Airstream and Argosy, and I couldn't be happier with the results or the durability of their work . . . it has been more than 7 years since the Airstream was completed and it will soon be 6 years since the Argosy was completed.
• Silver Threads Custom RV Curtains. A Forum member-owned business, Silver Threads has built a reputation for quality draperies. They are often recommended by a number of Forum Members and are very customer oriented.

I used JPA Drapes. I was amazed how perfect they fit and the amount of work that went into them. Well worth the investment.

I read here on Airforum the original paint codes, but can't begin to tell you where. I did save them in my Argosy notebook:

Official factory paint codes:
Argosy TT Upper *DuPont Centari 44534-A Light Beige
Argosy TT Lower *DuPont Centari 44721-AM Metallic Brown

I did not verify these, but, hopefully, they are correct.
