Can anyone help me look at these...????

Is there anyone who wouldn't mind looking at two Argosy's I'm considering? Not having ever owned one, I was thinking someone might have some good tips or recognize some good or bad things.
If you are someone that didn't mind, I could send you the two links if you were to PM me.

Thanks in advance,
Chad

You need to post where these two Argosy’s are located, unless you just want someone to view the pictures....

I should have clarified. I was just wondering if someone wouldn't mind looking at the CL ads, NOT physically go chasing after them! Sorry!

Here is the closer one. I was trying not to advertise these two until I had first crack at them since I spend a lot of time scouring ads.

You could find the ads if you looked in Kansas City, MO (no pics)
and
one in Mobile, AL.

I couldn't find a listing in Kansas City. The one in Mobile will probably need a good a bit of work before it's a show piece but could be a great restoration candidate. In the pictures it's clear to see that there is rust in between the end cap and aluminum. At the very least the entire trailer will need to be sealed. Considering the exterior condition I will imagine that you will find floor rot some where along the perimeter, probably at rear end. With out seeing the trailer in person and opening every cabinet and looking at every detail it's hard to say yes or no.

For what I've seen on pricing I'd say they are pretty much at the top of the market on a unit that will need this much work. If they are asking 5900 you have to figure an offer north of 4000 would probably buy it, again seeing it in person would dictate any offer.

They are great trailers but you can expect to sink a ton of money and work in any trailer in this price range. I paid 2500 for mine 17 years ago and haven't regretted it yet......

I'm more into the original interior vibe save for the green shag carpet and upholstery.
I do not want to pull this whole trailer apart. I want to enjoy it this season and fix things along the way. I may paint the exterior etc. as I have experience restoring old cars/motorcycles.

Here is KC.

I have more time than money.....

I can blast the exterior but the tail light housing being broken doesn't seem like an easy thing to find or repair.

Each year I spend about $500.00 in parts. And each year there is some small new repair needing attention.

Funny I've changed around everything in my trailer, except for the green counter tops, agreed the shag and original upholstery had to go. My counters are finally deteriorating enough that I'm going to have to address them. My kitchen sink is green as well. I've told the wife no matter what the green sink stays. I want my trailer to keep a connection to 1973. Many uninformed people think our trailer is just a few years old. We have literally been followed home from the interstate by folks wanting to know where to go buy one. Click image for larger version

The one in Mobile looks like a good deal to me. Plan on replacing tires and a lot of cleaning. You'll know if it's the one when you personally see it. Make sure he has title before you give him cash. Good luck and welcome to the family Zaemo

Alabama doesn't require a title on a trailer/vehicle of this age, neither does Georgia the op home state. While I have a Alabama title for my Argosy chances are this one will sell on a bill of sale only.

Thanks for the input, guys. I realize I'm not going to get an amazing low mileage old lady only drove it to church on Sunday trailer for $5000. I spoke to the guy in Mobile today. He has all paperwork. Trailer came from Panama City. One owner.

The guy's dad and uncle "buy and sell trailers." He said he looked it over, greased the bearings and checked the systems. So yeah, I know the wheels are round and the carpet is "new." It's too bad he tried to spruce it up with some white paint on the rims and orange on the bottom.

I love the 70's colors. I don't want an all white on the inside trailer. It would be a crime to paint the outside with huge brown swirls. Why does every new trailer have to look like that?

Spoke to an older woman in Ohio, (28' for $8K) and she sounded emotionally attached to it. A couple is waiting for financing.

I'm going to have to go in one direction or another or continue suffering through ads of old sold trailers I can't get to.

There is another project trailer in Florida if you really want a mid-70s Argosy. The refrigerator appears to a be a dorm style electric:
