I have just purchased a 24' Argosy and I believe it has provisions for a bunk bed. The manual is very vague with its directions and pictures. Can anyone give any info on this? There are two brackets on the wall and two round brackets on the ceiling. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It probably HAD a bunk bed in it at one time; not just the provisions for one.
the bunk itself was an alluminum ladder-frame w/ canvas wrapped around it. it attached directly to the brackets on the wall, and then was suspended by cables from those ceiling brackets. My understanding is that at least some of these (maybe all of them?) folded down when unhooked from the cables to form a seat-back that turned the lower bunk into a couch.
My Argosy 20' had provisions for a bunk bed, but it was a " homemade "
add on. I extricated the contraption to lose weight. The trailer is set up for 4 sleepers, but it gets pretty rank. I think 5 people would be too much. People
exude about a gallon in moisture and sweat each night. I put overflow in a tent or in the van. But I guess the bunks would be good for guests that
don't sleep together in the double beds.
I purchased my Argosy in February and the PO used the bunk bed system. I'm assuming it's the original, although the PO added a guard rail. When down, the beds form a couch. The bunk is suspended from the ceiling by cables. I've removed the bunks, but the attached photos show what it looked like when I first bought it.

There is another thread where someone built the bunks out of wood- looked a lot steadier to me. I suppose if the only weight was a baby or toddler, I wouldn't feel so uneasy. Seems to me, there was a pic in the latest (and first)airstream magazine, there was a drawing of a "cute" 50's lady plumping the pillow on a top bunk. We plan to do ours with alum, built up from the floor, not hanging from the roof. silver suz
