Brand new '76 Argosy 28'

Hello everyone!
Last week I was asked if I could help take an old trailer to a salvage yard. When I checked it out I decided to just pay the 200 he would have made scrapping it.
When I got home I Googled my trailer to find these fourms and everyone here to help with tons of knowledge.
It's a 76 argosy 28 w double bed. Outside is pretty good. It pulled like a dream. Inside is pretty bad. So here starts the long winter of trying to get it ready for camping by spring.
I will post some pics soon and will looking forward to years of fun in my arggy.

Clay

Congratulations. Looking forward to pictures. I hear that Bucars RV just down the road is getting back into Airstream service if you need parts at some point.

I am sure that you will enjoy the discovery process with your coach. These Argosy travel trailers are fun to own and use; and since they have been out of production for more than three decades, many people have never seen one. If your coach happens to have the rear bedroom rather than the rear bath, you have a comparatively rare coach . . . and you also have Panoramic Windows both front and rear . . . .

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

If it has 9"x9" floor tile there may be asbestos. I don"t remember when asbestos was outlawed in brake shoes. I'm not aware of any other areas that would contain asbestos.
It looks like a great find.

I'm so glad to see that you rescued this beautiful trailer! Looks like you're well on the way to having it back on the road. You'll find great advice here on the forums to help you along the way. My suggestion is that you invest in some kind of rock guard for the front windows by the time you're ready to camp. The standard guards used on new Airstreams fit perfectly on the Argosy, and while they're expensive, they are about the same price as a replacement window. Plus, the replacement windows are not clear glass, but smoked glass. There are also some very nice rock guards that some members have made from canvas and foam that are less expensive. You can use the search function to find those threads, or look through the Argosy Trailer section. Keep the pictures coming, and have fun with your new trailer!

Sharon
