I don't have a clue what button I hit for the first response !! What a transformation !! Did you paint it yourself ? Does it have a clearcoat on it ? It looks super inside and out !!! Where will your first outing be ? Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Hi Dan,i had a friend who has a body shop paint her.Yes we went with a special primer over the body and then a clear coat base coat.the bottom color we where able to match from finding the original color under the ID tag and the top color we found under the vent cover. The inside was all original but DIRTY .Took a week just to clean her up.The carpet could not be saved, every time i vacumed more of it ended up in the sweeper. The Argosy will go first to the campground where she has been for the last 30 years. They want to take a picture of her for the front of there camp Brochures. Then she will stay here on our property for family and friends to stay in when they visit. Thanks for looking,Happy Thanksgiving

What a great job you guys did!

It's so neat to see an older rig being brought back to 'life' - with that timeless style!

Our 78 had original shag carpet as well - First thing that had to go! Those deep fibers held unthinkable things from years gone by! (and smells, too)...

Went with a vinyl/wood plank floor and throw rugs that we can take out and clean...

Have great fun with your NEW rig!

Terry and Tammy,
Your Argosy really looks beautiful . . . inside and out! What a great idea to take her back to the campground where she had been parked. They won't recognize her! Well done!

Thanks for the response on the paint info. My dad had a body shop which is now leased to another great bodyman. I prepped my '88 Holiday Rambler 31' (Before we converted to Airstreamers) for painting using a wet sponge and Ajax cleanser to remove what little shine remained after sitting out for 17 years. We used basecoat / clearcoat on it, too. It was a LOT of work, but the results were worth it - although not as dramatic and satisfying as your project must be to you. Congratulations on a job WELL DONE. Enjoy the outings in it !!
Dan
