let me be sure I got this right-

28A6V2246 It's a 28' Argosy front door, center bath, rear twin bed model. Not sure but I think it's all original.

That's the right sort of number for a 28' rear-bedroom Argosy. It's a '76 built in Ohio. Welcome!

Great to see the VIN numbers still being added to the list.

Welcome to all the new "members to the club".

Greetings fellow argosy owners. I purchased in fall 2011 a 1979 Argosy 7.3 Minuet serial # 24D9V6115. Aside from admiring airstream products from afar I had no idea I was purchasing one until I got it home. I just liked the look of it. I soon found air forums and this site has been wealth of communal information since. I did minor repairs and updating while using the trailer until last spring when I decided to fix the rotted floor under the table/bed. After tearing out the floor I found a severely rusted and rotted A frame. What a mess!!!! I took the trailer to our local Airstream dealership, Wonderland Travel Center(the oldest continueing airstream dealer in the country). They replaced the A frame w/ hitch, the outriggers up to the wheel wells, and added a set of steps. I was able to get the floor back in and the frame rust treated and painted before putting it away for winter. Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait to get the trailer back home and continue the project.

Your Argosy should be a 1975 model then, 25T5V0251 indicates that. It was probably sold in late '74 and mis-titled.

Okay, once again I've updated the list. Everyone do please double check that when I add your VIN that I've copied it over correctly and in the right place with the right name etc. What I see when I edit the post is filled with all sorts of junk that I have to work around so it's hard for me to see what I'm doing.

Also, Casa Rodante...it looks like yours is the first trailer to create a sequential # in our database! You and TexInNC are trailer mates. How cool is it that 'we' have 2 members with trailers that were made one after the other?!

I had a forum member (Eric) email me directly rather than through this channel so I'm not sure of his forum name. However, he sent me his VIN and a copy of the original owners Argosy Owner card which is pretty cool. I mentioned he should post it here but I guess he hasn't gotten around to it yet but I have added his VIN to the directory under forum name unknown. Let me know your forum name when you get the chance Eric.

To make a long store short, I have changed my forum name from 'tiger' to 'GeocamperAS' if you want to change that on your list.
I have a 6.0 minuet and a 28ft.
Thanks

Vin Data Base

Thank you for keeping this list of Vin Numbers. I am wondering if anyone here knows how to find out how many Argosys were made? It looks like mine is the youngest one listed here with a vin of 20..D9V...6926 6.0 minuet.

Is my baby the baby?

I've changed your name on the database list GeocamperAS.

Leherrick I'm not sure why you think your trailer might be the youngest as your trailer is from 1979 and the earliest Argosy we have listed is from 1972. And your 4 digit sequence (6926) says yours was the the six thousandth...trailer made that year.

There are other people on the forum that have a lot more knowledge about Argosy's than I do and can probably tell you how many years the trailers were made. As to how many were made I'm sure the answer is a lot more than we're showing on our database!

I think he means youngest as in least-old, latest production date, etc.

Unhappy

Yes, by youngest, I meant Least Old. I don't know very much about the production runs, but from this database, None of the 74s have lower numbers than any of the 73s. And None of the 75s have lower numbers than any of the 74 or 73s, this is consistent in this data sampling through the last production year 79. None of the 79s have a lower number than any of the 72s - 78s

Each number seems to be consistent throughout the entire argosy range with no model having a lower number in a consecutive year than any other model in a previous year.

That led me to wonder.
