I am happy to announce that I am the "new" owner of a 1977 24' Argosy Double Bed trailer. I made the announcement in another thread and included some pictures.
My VIN is 24D7V1086 and I have the original 1977 Owner's Manual and the Registration of Ownership. The first owner was a gentleman from Kitchener, ON and it was purchased from Moore's Recreation Ltd in Whitmore Lake, MI on June 23, 1977.

Hi Everyone!
I love this forum and I am finding this thread very interesting! Thank you 247stream for putting all this info together. I am a little confused by my VIN though...
The date is October 1974
24 T5V 0635
However, the inside document above the fridge says the VIN is...
24 D5V 0635c
I believe the D is actually correct given that we have the double bed, and all of the cabinets where the twin would be appear to be original. Hmff? Any thoughts? Do we have the first incorrectly labeled Argosy :-)

I wonder if they started building it as a twin and got an order for a double and installed the double furniture instead, and modded the documentation but not the ID plate.
I'm guessing it's titled as 24T to match the physical stamp on the plate, right?

Well, when I recently had the ownership switched over they kept the original and I hadn't taken a pic of it or a photocopy-so dumb I know. The new one says 2405V0635C. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if there is any chance they still have it.The title was dated 1980 but I believe he was the original owner. Your explanation DKB SATX does make sense though.

Apparently on the original (and only) title before I switched it the VIN was an 0, not a D or a T. So I'm thinking that the original owner incorrectly read the document above the fridge and thought the D was an O? Or the employee wrote it down wrong? Who knows...its just another thing that makes her unique I guess.

My rear-bedroom 28' trailer is actually titled as Z8A6V instead of the 28A6V that appears on the tongue and the tag. I'm going to have that corrected.

I have a 1978 argosy 6 meter minuet with vin #20D8S5075 on the title. There's a plate on the street side by battery box door that says it was manufactured in 10-77, location S.

Hi Ladidi
My 1977 6 metre Minuet has a VIN of 20D 7 S 5212.
If both ours were built in California (S in the VIN), and my VIN is a higher # than yours, perhaps yours is in fact 1977. Or perhaps mine is a 1978.
I sometimes wonder if Airstream sometimes followed the 1950s British car manufacturer's serial numbering system - that is, no rhyme or reason!
Keep the shiney side up!
Will

Thanks 247stream for doing this list.

1977 Argosy 6.0 Minuet 20D7V1778
May be of interest to some, I live in Versailles, Ohio where the Argosy was built.
My neighbor worked in both the Versailles plant and Jackson Center. He has been a great resource for me as I restored my Minuet.
For a few years I delivered Airstream's out of Jackson Center to all parts of US.
