Argosy Perpetrator!?

There is a listing on Ebay (7/10/07) for a 1987 32' Argosy made by Airstream. Is this accurate?

Argosy

They were built at a separate factory than the silver trailers. But Airstream was the parent company. FYI, Ed

Thanks, but I still want a DNA test because it looks nothing like my 1977 6.0 Minuet. It looks more like that SOB that claimed to be a "good friend".

The Argosy and Minuets are two separate models made by the same plant. DNA test would show same paternity. Ed

There was one across the street from us in Gulf Shores SP in Feb/Mar. It had a square shape not the curved roofline. I just saw the other day, for the first time, a picture of a "square stream". Had heard that name before and now know why they were made only a short couple of years. Beautiful but just not THAT A/S look.sue

The square argosies of the mid 80's were supposedly built in the same factory as the similar-looking Airstream trailers.

Hey guys, there are now 2 of 'em on Ebay,a 87 32' Argosy "square stream", and a 89 32' Airstream "square stream".They both appear to be aluminum (like mine ),even though a few of the last ones built were fiberglass .The buy it now price for the Airstream is pretty high ! I think mine was made in Jackson center,I decoded the vin number, but its been a while back so I'am not sure. Brian

argosy line was introduced in 1972 and built in versailles, ohio...

classic shaped trailers and the original mohos.

by 1980 or so the plant was closing in versailles, as ALL production was moved to jackson center.

the squarestream argosy was only produced from 1986-1989.

these were built in jackson center.

while the skin is aluminum, it was attached with high tech bonding agents (glue)

so these squarestreams (branded as a/s and argosy) lacked most rivets!

the a/s versions were silver (land yacht) and the arg versions painted.

5th wheel models and double axle trailers like those in the ebay adds...

the silver land yacht a/s version continued until 91? then died.

cheers
