Argosy curtains

I requested a quote from (Ambruso?) highly recommended by this site. Sorry re: name of Co. I am home, and info is in Argosy currently parked ocean-side. We own a 61 Chevy Impala and attended a car show at the Atlantic Air Balloon Festival this weekend, (live in Atlantic Canada, borders state of Maine). Too many vintage loves and summer is too short here.

Received excellent instructions as to measurements and yardage. Also included in pkg. were fabric samples of curtain materials available and linings i.e. room darkening. Hubby had a "hissy-fit" over price quote, so I visited our best local fabric shop, samples and instructions in-hand. They also make custom items as requested, and was shown materials same and/or comparable to swatches of curtain and lining I had with me. Was provided with a price quote on material, lining and labour much more to hubbys liking. ONLY problem being the tabs. Apparently, I am not the first Airstreamer to request new curtains however, they were unable to comply as Airstreams are not common in this area and they have no supplier name. I'm working on that!

Hope this helps a bit
As we say in the Maritimes,
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Di,

Di, I think the tabs are available from Inland RV. The Ambruso drapes are expensive but they are worth it. They made new bedroom curtains for my 75 Argosy and they fit perfectly. My intentions are to have them do the living room curtains this winter. Mine are still pretty nice. See the pics earlier in this thread, but they look a liitle tired when compared to the new ones. I can post pics of the Ambruso curtains if you like. Roger

Argosy curtains

Yes, please send pics. Now that Loonie and Greenback are at par, price may be more acceptable to hubby.

Thanks,
Have a great day,
Di

Here are some pictures of the Ambruso curtains. The pictures probably don't do them justice. They fit perfectly. I provided the measurements. They are very "crisp" in that they have sharp pleats and the material has not sagged or drooped at all since I got them over a year ago.

Go to Vintage Trailer Supply - Vintage travel trailer parts and supplies! and type in curtains. They have just about any curtain fasteners you might need. I believe you can get them direct from the Airstream site also. I can't remember where I got mine, but they were inexpensive.

Curtain tabs

I just priced those at the AS factory/Jackson Center. The L shaped plastic pieces for the top tabs are 31 cents each. The T shaped ones at the bottom are also 31 cents each. Not INexpensive there.

1976 28ft Argosy

Hello,

I just acquired a 1976, 28ft Argosy with the center bath. Everything is original. The trailer was permantly parked at a favorite recreational lake during its early years. It has been in dry storage the last 20 or so years.

I look forward to using the forums as I refurbish, and hope to have it looking near new.

Thank you.
