Post 75 24' updates

Well we broke down and started upgrading the major appliances in our trailer. Last week we had a new Carrier 13,500BTU A/C and a new Atwood water heater.

The A/C has posed a couple problems that I have yet to work out. First off the inside unit is not curved to fit the ceiling, so when the unit is tightened up the cover no longer fits correctly. The fix appears to be to add curved spacers to the inner unit and the cover to match the roof line. After our first trip this weekend I'll start working the issue.

The water heater was a direct replacement, the unit was a tighter fit due to the rigid styrofoam insulation. All in All things went very smooth.

This Friday we take off for Pittsburgh, PA, tis is our first trip out in a year an a half as I have been dealing with cancer and am just now feeling up to tackling a trip. We are also planning on attending the International this year for the first time.

Sounds like you are getting busy making that Argosy a 21st Century Baby! I bet you find out just what you need to know for the AC from this group. How wonderful that after the health struggle you've been through that new strength and, with it, travel time are here again for you. Carry the warm thoughts and prayers of the forum with you this weekend Happy camping!

I have a 78 24' Argosy that I am doing cosmetic renovation on. It seems the more you do the more you want to do. Haven't started on the appliances yet but that's probably because they still work very well. Gee, does that mean I'm cheap? Have been staining the wood to match the new floor we are going to install "someday". Don't ever stain unless you have no other choice. Replaced the end pieces in the kitchen with new hand made and vinyl covered ones. Learn as you go is the word.

Put water to the Argosy today. Someone did not do a good job with winterizing the Hot water heater. Looked more like a lawn sprinkler
Looks like I'll be searching for a replacement.....
New water line pieced in, (replaced radiator hose) found another section that needs to be replaced under the galley sink as well. The good news? No leaks in the bathroom!!!

The Good news for you is the Atwood fits in perfect and the one we got makes hot water faster and uses less fuel than the old one.
