'74 Argosy missing interior KT lock?

In the process of working on my '74 Argosy 22 and realized I don't have a way to lock the foot from the inside. There isn't a deadbolt or any other mechanism to lock the outer door from the inside and the screen door latch can be easily pushed open. Is there a simple repair for this or will I have to replace the entire KT lock?

The little threaded lock knob is available as a separate part. Many Airstrewam dealers carry those parts, just check websites or make a couple of phone calls.

Yep, Vts has one and I'm sure others sell them as well. http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/...p/vts-1002.htm

Seems kind of pricey for basically just a small bolt. Could probably find something at the hardware store for $.50.

It's what is called a shoulder bolt. A regular bolt is the same diameter from end to end, a shoulder bolt has a larger diameter beyond the threaded area, so it will tighten.

I'm currently restoring my 8th 1970s Airstream and they have all had the KT lock. Most of them have been missing the locking pin for some reason.
I've tried a lot of screws and hardware, but have found that it's worth it to bite the bullet (or screw) and buy the right pin.
Vintagetrailersupply.com has it for $35 dollars..

I've got a round head machine screw in mine; something like an 8-32 X 1" or 1-1/2". It might be a 6-32. I can't really tell.
