1978 Minuet Restoration Almost Complete

Our 1978 Minuet has undergone a major transformation since we purchased it almost two years ago from a good friend of mine. The interior has been refurbished with new floor, screens, gaucho covers, drapes, tambour doors, shower re-fiberglassed, faucets, new gas lines, and all new PEX water lines.

The exterior has been repainted, belly pan removed, floor supports welded where needed, and new fiberglass insulation installed. All the appliances, including the refrigerator, furnace, water heater, and air conditioner have been checked out and repaired where needed. We've also added a fixed antenna and foldout steps.

I started working on the trailer, starting with the floor, where I used premium vinyl click flooring over a new 1/2 inch plywood underlayment (the trailer has an aluminum subfloor). I spray painted the ugly inside front cap, had new gaucho covers and drapes made by Tin Can Interiors, replaced the really ugly plywood doors that someone had put on the overhead storage with tambour doors that a gentleman in Ontario sold to me, and built a new gaucho-looking door for under the sink to replace the ugly plywood there, plus a number of other things, including a new awning not in the photos.

On the first shake-down trip, I discovered, much to my horror, that all the plumbing was leaking. It was a stroke of good luck that I met a fantastic guy at the campground who restores trailers, so I delivered the trailer to him for all the remaining work, that I either couldn't do, or didn't have the time/tools/etc. necessary. The results are fantastic.....it looks like a new trailer, and we couldn't be happier. I posted three shots of the exterior on here somewhere, and I'll post some interior shots later.

The photos look great, I hope I have a chance to see it in person on a campout soon!

I'm restoring a '78 Argosy Minuet and would love to see your photos.

Also, what thickness of plywood did you use for your subfloor?

Did you have to disassemble the shower in order to replace that faucet?
