1976 Argosy 24' New to Me

Hello. Have been following this forum for a few months, and I have enjoyed the lessons posted here.

I have been lucky in finding, (and purchasing), a 1976 Argosy 24 here in Western Pa. I located it on Craigslist Pittsburgh last Fri and towed it home Saturday.

Not too many issues with the Argo. Showing its age inside and out, but everything seems to be in working order. She is the Twin bed model with front dinette. Everything is original as far as I can tell.

Thanks for all the great posts.

Welcome to the forums!

It looks to me like that's a Double floor plan, rather than a twin... the bed on the curbside just forward of the bathroom folds down into something that theoretically sleeps 2. The Twin plan would have another bed on the street side where you have storage, and the beds have just a mattress rather than a backrest and seat.

It does look like you're in pretty good shape there. One thing I'd advise early on is to get something that protects the clear panorama windows, since they're no longer made. The standard Airstream "rock guard" system for narrow-body trailers with panos fits, and some of us have chosen to go for flexible windows guards (dense foam wrapped in canvas covers, attached with Common Sense fasteners) so that you can easily take them off and get lots of light through the windows. For me, a bonus of that system is that I can leave the center window uncovered so I can see through the trailer in my rear-view mirror.

Congrats on the purchase. I found mine in the Poconos last year. Yours looks pretty clean! Good luck!
