And now for a different kind of stomach-churning result than the Pam Anderson Airstream makeover...
Next Wednesday night a 1970's-era Airstream will bite the dust on Discovery Channel's Smash Lab when they drive it off a freaking cliff. Genius. I suppose they'll dub it the SMASHTREAM or something clever like that.
I took photos of my t.v. during the "coming attractions". The show is stupid as hell, but I'm sure I'll watch this one of morbid curiosity.

"Think this trailer will survive a 20 foot fall?"

"Hope not! Our show is called SMASH LAB[/b]!"
There was a holiday ad for a game system 3-4 years ago. The game controller had a tractor beam type effect causing an Airstream in the ad to roll toward the game player/camera. Probably didn't have the running gear balanced.
A link was posted back then but I doubt it would be 'live' and not worth searching out in our archives. I don't find anything like it on YouTube.
Don't ask me how I find these: Destruction of an Airstream!. I remember that they had to hurriedly shut off the controller to prevent the Airstream from rolling right over them.
I LOVE Mythbusters, but Smashlab is a cheap rip-off with no redeeming values that I saw. I was amazed in the first episode how incredibly boring they could make science
At least if they destroyed an Airstream on Mythbusters, they would make it fun to watch.

Everytime I hear or read about some dumb*ss show like this, makes me feel all that much better about taking the TV out of my house over six years ago. Though I will admit when I'm on travel with work, I'll watch TV to help pass the time in the hotel room, but I could never have it in my house again fulltime. You guys/gals enjoy the show.

We are SO with you, rideair! We have not watched TV (except for the occasional Superbowl) for over 7 years now unless we were visiting family or in a motel. There is some good stuff on there, a la MythBusters, but there is so much mindless drivel we have not missed it. There is so much else to do! Plus we both love to read.

I watched Smashlab once, it seemed like a poorly made wannabee Mythbusters clone. I was not impressed with it, nor do I think it is worth my time to watch it again.

I just saw a tease for an upcoming Smash Lab episode and it was about slowing a run away trailer. The are using a Vintage Airstream could be a 30 or 34. They showed it going down a steep embankment, and later just blowing up, well it was a lot of smoke anyway.
