I was on my Disney forum and came across this in the Fun Facts about Ft. Wilderness at Walt Disney World:

Fun Facts:
Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground opened on November 19, 1971. At the time there were two "comfort stations" and 232 campsites.
In 1973, Ft. Wilderness expanded by adding more campsites and 10 Airstream trailers. The now defunct Wilderness Line Steam Railroad was introduced. The four Forney Type 2-4-2T engines pulled up to five cars and could transport 90 guests. This predecessor to the Internal bus system was not only enjoyed by Fort guests, for $1 anyone could ride it all day long. Here's a tidbit for Disney trivia buffs. These engines became ticket booths for Pleasure Island before being sold to collectors.
Today there are 784 campsites and 409 Wilderness Cabins. Not only are the Cabins equipped with cable and high-speed internet access, so are many of the campsites.

The "Fun Facts" went on to say that the "Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue" is the longest running musical in America.

I wonder what ever happened to the 10 Airstream trailers?

I think some of them are still in use around the Disney empire. I remember seeing two of them in a recent photo of one of the shops.
The other 8 are probably on the road, being towed by Disney characters disguised as RVers.

Were they Bambis?

The other 8?

I know who has them...one for each of the seven dwarfs and another for prince charming.

We had two members go there this year (okay, that's neither news nor accurate...).

But they saw Airstreams!

Here's our Airstream this last June sitting in Fort Wilderness campsite #108...We loved it, and thank all forum members who gave us the heads up on the preferred spots!

Thanks!

You know, it never dawned on me that the ones that are used as dressing rooms for the characters at MGM Studios (to be renamed Disney's Hollywood Studios in January) and the one at the Animal Kingdom would account for three or four of them.

I guess the others are at Disney Land or used on other parts of the property or maybe were just sold as surplus.
