wow, welcome to the forums. Very first post and that is what you post about? Interesting most people post about the trailer they are going to buy or have just bought. Guess MM is worth the first one.

Yea, I am one of the "Anonymous" posters to that site (the "November 05, 2009 11:45 PM dude.) Know nothing about /x17online.com, but hey!
Read the posts there and check out the links. Check out Airstream life, too.

The new one is at Malibu Rv are we sure he bought the old one or did he see it at Malibu RV while someone was visiting and did he pose for their photos. he is a good guy, likes his privacy and since his baby he is gving back to a program to keep kids in school. Sorrry i forget the name of his charity. Such a cute and good guy and his girlfriend has made a wondeful addition to his life. Family life must be agreeing with him.

I feel for the guy. He picks up his restored Airstream and there's 51 photographs of it on the Internet. 51? It's a shame that a guy who enjoys his privacy is not afforded more of it.

Airstream Life has been doing a series on the restoration. Suffice it to say, no expense has been spared-- new heavy duty frame, several exterior panels replaced, completely redesigned interior, etc. They made a comment about how it would cost "low six figures" or something to that effect. Chump change for Matt.

Agreed. If he wanted people to talk about his rig, he'd post pictures of it here.
Leave the guy be.

^^ Goes with the territory. I don't feel bad for any "celebrity". They make enough $$ to more than make up for any loss of privacy. Besides there are photos of that trailer all over GSMs website.

That is a stunning trailer inside. Love that floorplan, particularly the huge rear bed and the center bath. Maybe when I hit the Lotto I could have something similar done with a 24' Argosy...

Given the success of supermarket tabloids, you are no doubt in the majority.
I just don't see the rational nexus between making a lot of money and the right for complete strangers to intrude on another person's private life. I've seen fans repeatedly interrupt the dinner of professional athletes to ask for autographs. Because the guy makes $5m a year playing football, he's not entitled to a quiet meal with his family? Because a person watches a few games and buy the merchandise, he or she is entitled to intrude?
McConaughey is an actor. A person pays $10 (or whatever the silly price of going to the movies is these days) and in return, they get to watch him on "the big screen." Or they rent a DVD for a few bucks less. Just because the guy makes a very comfortable living acting, I don't think he has any less right to privacy than you or me.
If GSM wants to use the trailer to promote the business, fine. If McConaughey has agreed to let them use his name/image, OK. He clearly posed for a few pictures which was nice... but the 51 pictures posted were clearly taken by someone other than the photographer for whom McConaughey was posing and included his "significant other" who what? Lost her right to privacy because she's attached to someone famous?
I don't have any problem admiring the trailer, which seems to be a nice bit of work. I just feel badly that the guy can't adjust his boxers without film at 11.

Don't get me wrong, I think privacy is good--for everybody. All I am saying is it goes with the territory. You want to be a big time actor, athlete, celebrity, politician, etc, be ready to lose a bit of privacy. That just how it is, thanks to the american publics insatiable appetite for private details on the celebs.
I do not feel sorry for them, however.

If lack of privacy is so bad, why is it celebrities have publicists on their staffs? It is their job to keep their clients in the public eye. When the cameras finally do go away, the celebs they know their ride is over.
The only time it really sucks for them is when lies are spewed. But even then the celeb sues the media outlet that disparaged their name and they make more money.

I totally agree with Hamp38 ~ the money we might spend on entertainment, be it sports folks, singers or basketweavers does not entitle us to entrude in their private lives. Yes, they sometimes need a bit of publicity, and their agents arrange that, on some talk show, dancing competition and now wrestling (of all things!!?). But this obsession with every aspect of their private lives is, to my way of looking at it, pretty sick.
