Larry was the design engineer that worked with Airstream. In 1968
, 1969 Airstream changed to the 5 panel, stretched formed end panels.
The team was Larry, Jack Oakley, Art Costello, Keith Kroll, Harold Moody and Bob Chateau.
What they worked on was not a prototype, but a almost new Airstream in and out.
From time to time it is necessary to build concepts, to try something new.
Larry McCane as a design engineer worked on many projects. Airstream and Thor work on many projects.
In evaluation of the Scout, it is bait to see what the market will bear. Can it sell? Is is consistent with the Airstream image? Maybe not, maybe so; I'm not here to draw lines in the sand.
Concepts come and go. The Wally Byam Holiday and Argosy certainly went poof.
Dealers, the Industry, customers, Airstream owners, and the WBCCI will probably have their say as to products. Maybe not in that order or in the same intensity. I certainly leave that up to others. I only wanted to introduce Larry McCAne, since he was brought up in the "Scout Thread." Larry really did bring forth ideas to the Airstream Team.
