Well, for 1/2 million you could have this new 2007 Airstream....

Airstream Sky Deck

Adds 10" so you can still get under overpasses....

I have never seen something like this....

I believe the only Airstream branded motorhome you can buy now is the Skydeck, and on custom order only. The are pretty amazing, the deck part had automatic foldout seating, table, grill very cool stuff for tailgating and race watching, etc,

If this coach has everything, then why isn't there an AC? And where are you to put it?

Ha!

It's got A/C...it's ducted with the condeser and coils located elsewhere.....

For that much $$$ you'd better believe it's got A/C!

Does It or Doesn't It?

The listing differs. See the attached from the product description. I saw the top comment on no AC but below it says it does. You'd think for 1/2 a mill, they'd get it right.

I've been in two of these and can say for sure, it's there.

The ad is not from Airstream, but a individual or a dealer. We all know first hand that dealer's don't really do a great job of putting the best, most correct info out on the web. Additionally, even Airstream's website has errors and omissions in it.

If you click on the more photos and click on picture 7, you'll see the ducted air vents on the ceiling.

What a beast. It cost more than my house and property. Here is a link to the AS website that shows more of the interior, and the actual skydeck...

Oh, I don't doubt for a moment that it has an AC, actually I would expect several. I was commenting on the ad not saying so. I'm surprised it doesn't have a skydeck jacuzzi, sauna, and a wave pool.

For the right price, the custom crew will build one for ya.

There is a local owner around here that is a forum member (Cottage) that I seem to recall has a hot tub in his vintage Airstream.

We looked at a skydeck in 03 when we bought our 31' Classic. The price then was $ 168,000.00. It was nice but just to big for us and it did have AC.
I think $ 500,000.00 is not the correct price unless the sky deck is gold plated. They are in the high $ 200,000.00 to high $ 3000,000.00. You should shop around besides the one advertised is used. 1000 miles = USED.

The unique thing about the skydecks is that there are lots of custom units out there that they make for businesses/corporations and individuals.

This unit looks like a custom unit and to me that could be why it's more expensive than the standard factory model. I was in JC a bit over a year ago and in Terra Port, they pulled a Skydeck next to me. This company ordered one and it had wireless Internet, 2 or 3 big plasma TVs, sat TV, etc. I can bet it was more than $200k. Along side my 25', it made my 25' look like a 16'!

Basement air

hi Folks,

'Been off the Forums for a bit, but wanted to put this confusion to rest. I work on a lot of these 'big bus' style units and the Skydeck uses a 'basement' style air or heat pump unit that occupies one of the bottom storage bays. These units are made by RVP-Colemen, Dometic and Carrier. They are ducted into the coach, and are the only tpe of A-C/heatpump that can be used on a 'roofless' coach like this.

Happy New Year to all!
